Going beyond their traditional role of administrative documentation and preservation of collective memory, archives today constitute a strategic lever for governance, economic and social development, the protection of rights, and the enhancement of heritage.
Faced with global transformations and the digital revolution accelerated by the development of artificial intelligence, archives are no longer simple testimonies of the past. They become a capital of knowledge and civilization, while constituting a driver for effective public policies, guarantors of Morocco’s digital sovereignty and the promotion of its cultural diplomacy and its brand image internationally.
Since its creation in 2007 and its classification as a strategic public establishment in 2012, Archives of Morocco embodies the national pillar for the preservation and enhancement of archival heritage and constitutes a real actor in supporting and implementing public policies and good governance, by integrating itself fully and in step with the major structuring projects of the Kingdom, launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him — New Development Model, advanced regionalization, modernization of administration, the Royal Atlantic Initiative, and the promotion of scientific research.
